Our pine gum rosin is derived from slash pine trees (pinus elliottii) growing  in south Georgia, USA, using sustainable forest practices. We harvest the raw  pine gum ourselves. Then, we fire distill the raw gum right here on our farm  using basically the same methods used for hundreds of years. Finally, we  package, label, and ship our products all by hand. Attention to detail is  paramount in our business. Our goal is to maintain the historical integrity of  pure gum spirits of turpentine and pine gum rosin while also providing our  customers with premier products they can afford. Our pine gum rosin, also  called colophony, has many uses, among which are ... tackifiers (for  adhesives) grip enhancers (for use by athletes) incense for use on stringed  instruments soldering fluxes hobbies/crafts (soap-making, candle-making, etc.)  health and beauty supplies home remedies paints and varnishes. Our pine gum  rosin is not listed as a food-grade item and therefore is not for internal  use. Please note that during the hot Summer months, this product may melt and  re-solidify during shipping. Our rosin is an organic compound, and we do not  add any chemicals to alter the softening point. This means that it may arrive  in a more solid mass, with a bit darker color than is pictured. This will not  change the composition of the rosin. If it's important to you that the rosin  be in a powdered, pebble, or rock form, then you may wish to place orders  during the cooler months.
